If you're a fan of pizza, spaghetti with meatballs, or nearly any Italian fare, then you're probably already familiar with Chianti. It's one of our favorite red wines to drink at home.
The primary grape variety in Chianti is Sangiovese, which is also the foundation for Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino. Sangiovese also pops up as a blending grape in Carmignano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and Morellino di Scansano.
Today's Chianti is a great quaffer, which means it's easy drinking and not overly complicated but also really tasty and pleasing. The price is just right at less than $12/bottle after discount.
